We're Hiring!

“It’s-Not-That-Kind-of-Church” Musician Gig

We’re a new, innovative faith community in Arlington, VA, just outside of D.C. We seek faith in uncommon ways, contribute to the common good, and create places to belong. One of our core values is radical inclusivity: We strive to be lgbtq+ affirming, creation caring, pro-immigrant, peace-making, community-building, racial-justice seeking, all-ability welcoming Christians. Doubters, seekers, atheists, agnostics and committed people of faith are all welcome.

We plan to start worshipping monthly in September 2018 and weekly in January 2019, Sundays at 5pm. Because we’re new, we’re open to experimentation, adaptation, and figuring things out as we go.

We need a musician who plays, sings, and leads beautiful, singable, music — sometimes churchy and often not -that-churchy: anything from current radio hits to old school gospel and hymns. We love a mixed vibe that includes high-energy, sing-your-heart-out, and reflective/chill material.

We’re looking for someone with chops on keyboard or guitar, comfortable playing in a variety of styles, good at getting others involved, organized, fun to work with in a collaborative environment, and good at getting others involved. We are not looking for a diva or superstar but for someone who enjoys leading people in worship and helping people discover the countercultural joy of singing *together*.
